As all classes are taught in English, applicants must have demonstrated proficiency in the English language. Please see our FAQ’s for more information.
We expect entering freshmen to have a strong background in STEM. We strongly advise students to have completed mathematics courses through Calculus; all entering freshmen must have taken a Calculus course prior to their first term at CatholicTech.
In the application, we require that at least one of the letters of recommendation comes from a teacher in a STEM field. We encourage students to submit the optional extracurricular resume and to include any research experience or projects.
Transfer students should reach out to the Admissions Office to inquire about applying.
Financial Aid Process
Catholic Institute of Technology is committed to making it possible for all qualified applicants to receive a rigorous and authentically Catholic education in STEM.
Every student admitted to CatholicTech meets the highest standards—academically, personally, and spiritually. Because of this, we do not offer merit-based scholarships. Instead, we work closely with each family to ensure that a CatholicTech education is both accessible and affordable. Our goal is that every student called to join our community can do so, regardless of financial circumstances.
We are able to offer generous need-based financial aid to enable students to attend CatholicTech; these opportunities include grants, loans, and work-study programs. After an application is accepted, the student is notified of their admittance and invited to reach out to financial_aid@catholic.tech to discuss need-based financial aid.
Courses of Study
| Biology | The Biology major explores genetics, ecology, physiology, and more, gaining insights into the diversity, evolution, and behavior of living organisms. Catholic Institute of Technology partners with the Bio-Medico University of Roma for wet lab and research opportunities. The Biology track also allows students to complete all prerequisites for U.S. medical schools. |
|---|---|
| Biomedical Engineering | The Biomedical Engineering major merges life sciences with engineering to address challenges in healthcare, agriculture, and more. In this major, students study biomaterials, biotechnology, and systems biology, preparing them to design solutions that harness the power of living organisms. The Biological Engineering track also allows students to complete all prerequisites for U.S. medical schools. |
| Chemical Engineering | The Chemical Engineering major explores the principles of chemistry, physics, and biology to transform raw materials into valuable products. Study a diverse range of topics including process engineering, thermodynamics, materials science, and biochemical engineering, to design and optimize processes that produce everything from fuels and pharmaceuticals to food and consumer goods. Chemical engineers leverage computational and experimental approaches to innovate solutions for global challenges in energy, health, and sustainability. |
| Civil Engineering | The Civil Engineering major explores the interplay between human infrastructure, natural systems, and architectural design. From creating resilient structures and sustainable transportation networks to managing water resources and preserving architectural heritage, this multidisciplinary major equips students to shape the built environment while considering environmental stewardship and aesthetics. |
| Electrical Engineering and Computer Science | Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) major focuses on the analysis and development of electrical and computer systems. Students analyze and build both hardware and software systems for a variety of purposes such as control, signal processing, communication, decision making and artificial intelligence. The program emphasizes mathematical rigor in analyzing and practical experience in building systems, and invites students to consider how such systems impact and are impacted by their users and society more broadly. It provides a suitable preparation for aspiring engineers, entrepreneurs, and researchers. |
