Programs and Admission Requirements
General Admission Requirements
Applicants for the Fall of 2025 should be graduating high school seniors who are in good academic and social standing at their schools and in their communities. Transfer students should reach out to the Admissions Office to inquire about applying.
Financial Aid Process
CatholicTech will utilize merit-based and need-based scholarships in building and determining a scholarship package. Each applicant is automatically considered for merit-based aid and the competitiveness of his or her application will determine the amount received.
We are committed to establishing a partnership with each applicant and family to make attending CatholicTech a reality. Following an accepted application, a student can apply for need-based aid within the application portal but following the steps delineated. We are grateful to our supporters for making rigorous, technical Catholic education an affordable reality for all students.
For more need-based financial aid information, contact admissions@catholic.tech.
Courses of Study
Civil Engineering | The Civil Engineering major explores the interplay between human infrastructure, natural systems, and architectural design. From creating resilient structures and sustainable transportation networks to managing water resources and preserving architectural heritage, this multidisciplinary major equips students to shape the built environment while considering environmental stewardship and aesthetics. |
---|---|
Mechanical Engineering | The Mechanical Engineering major uncovers the principles of mechanics, energy, and motion that drive mechanical engineering. Students will study a diverse range of topics including robotics, thermodynamics, materials science, and more, to design and create innovative mechanical systems. |
Electrical Engineering and Computer Science | Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) major focuses on the analysis and development of electrical and computer systems. Students will analyze and build both hardware and software systems for a variety of purposes such as control, signal processing, communication, decision making and artificial intelligence. The program emphasizes mathematical rigor in analyzing and practical experience in building systems, and invites students to consider how such systems impact and are impacted by their users and society more broadly. It provides a suitable preparation for aspiring engineers, entrepreneurs, and researchers. |
Biomedical Engineering | The Biomedical Engineering major merges life sciences with engineering to address challenges in healthcare, agriculture, and more. In these majors, students will study biomaterials, biotechnology, and systems biology, preparing them to design solutions that harness the power of living organisms. The Biological Engineering track also allows students to complete all prerequisites for U.S. medical schools. |
Biology | The Biology major explores genetics, ecology, physiology, and more, gaining insights into the diversity, evolution, and behavior of living organisms. Catholic Institute of Technology partners with the Bio-Medico University of Roma for wet lab and research opportunities. The Biology track also allows students to complete all prerequisites for U.S. medical schools. |
Chemical Engineering | The Chemical Engineering major explores the principles of chemistry, physics, and biology to transform raw materials into valuable products. Study a diverse range of topics including process engineering, thermodynamics, materials science, and biochemical engineering, to design and optimize processes that produce everything from fuels and pharmaceuticals to food and consumer goods. Chemical engineers leverage computational and experimental approaches to innovate solutions for global challenges in energy, health, and sustainability. |
Physics | One of the key highlights of the Physics major is the emphasis on new and emerging technologies. We delve into the fascinating realms of space exploration, quantum information, and computing, providing students with the knowledge and skills to contribute to these rapidly evolving fields. Physics also explores the science behind new materials, and their potential applications in various industries. From understanding the properties of graphene to exploring the possibilities of metamaterials, we encourage our students to think beyond the conventional and push the boundaries of innovation. |
Theology | For the minor, students take four core Theology courses (one each year) in which they study Apologetics, Moral Theology, Bioethics, and Church History. With the center of the Catholic Church so close to our campus, students have the wonderful opportunity to take courses such as “Salvation History in the Eternal City,” exploring early Christianity and how the history of Catholicism has formed Western Civilization while visiting the real sites of these studies. Every student at CatholicTech graduates with a minor in Theology, prepared to live and share their faith in every aspect of their lives and evangelize through their work in science. For the major, students can pursue the pontifical colleges program. |
Philosophy | Every student at CatholicTech takes four core Philosophy courses (one each year) in which they trace the roots of modern scientific and ethical thought, starting with the ancient tradition in Plato’s Republic and Aristotle’s The Nicomachean Ethics and continuing towards modern works such as Josef Pieper’s Leisure the Basis of Culture. In studying the history of philosophy, ethics, and the philosophy of science, students gain an understanding of humanity’s historical relationship with science and the world surrounding us. Every student graduates with a minor in Philosophy. |
Technology Ethics MS | Masters in Technology Ethics:This degree provides scientists and engineers with the ethical framework necessary to address the challenges in ethics and technology that require an interdisciplinary approach, particularly one rooted in the integration of faith and reason. With a focus on the teachings of the Church and the latest ethical research with emerging technologies, this program aligns moral laws with scientific principles, ensuring the dignity of the human person is upheld. With new technologies constantly being developed, it is essential for Catholics to have a voice in ensuring ethical and moral considerations are present throughout the entire development of a new technology—from design to commercialization.
